LSWR GROUP AND IL FORO ITALIANO TOGETHER TO CREATE A LEGAL-JUDICIAL CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN THE ITALIAN PUBLISHING SECTOR

A partnership has been signed between the two leading operators in the legal-judicial sector

13/nov/2017

Milan, November 13, 2017 - LSWR Group announces it has signed, through its subsidiary La Tribuna Srl, a partnership agreement with Il Foro Italiano, with the common goal of creating a legal-judicial centre to be the market leader in Italy and lay the foundations for an expansion abroad.

Since 2014, LSWR Group is the owner of the La Tribuna publishing house, which has been working in the professional publishing sector since 1954 and since the early sixties has specialised in the publication of legal books, journals, courses and databases. The company has found in Il Foro Italiano, publisher of the eponymous magazine and major data banks in the sector, the ideal partner to pursue a modernisation and innovation project in the legal and judicial field.

Il Foro Italiano, a magazine founded in 1876 by Enrico Scialoja, has since been one of the sector's reference points in the Italian legal editorial panorama, thanks to the authoritative signatures that have collaborated with its editorial staff, and to its renowned scientific rigour. The same rigour distinguishes the publications of La Tribuna, which prints codes in all areas of law, by collecting under its own brand book publications, specialist journals and databases with market recognised content reliability and timely updating that make it a leader in the specific segment.

The goal of the operation is to create an all-Italian centre that can operate on equal footing with the international giants of the legal-judicial publishing industry by offering, to the various professions of reference, such as lawyers, magistrates, notaries, but also accountants, employment consultants and condominium administrators, all of the products and services offered today by the two companies, but above all creating added value by designing, thanks to the synergy regarding content and authors of the two publishing houses, new products and new services that can respond in a more effective and modern way to the needs of legal professionals.

From now on, La Tribuna Srl will include in its offer the following products of Il Foro Italiano: the historic paper magazine with the same name; the Repertorio Annuale (Annual Directory), which is still unique in the Italian market; the Banca Dati (Data Bank) in its various versions, integrated with the digital project by La Tribuna recently launched on the market, LaTribunaPlus.

The partnership La Tribuna / Il Foro Italiano will involve, inter alia, the participation of La Tribuna in the shareholding of Il Foro Italiano Srl.

Giorgio Albonetti, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LSWR Group, now a Director of Il Foro Italiano as well, commented: "We are pleased to have reached this important partnership agreement with Il Foro Italiano, the only Italian company in the JSTOR, the world reference data bank for legal professional. With this trade synergy, we expect an increase of about 25% in La Tribuna Srl's turnover over the course of one year and a further increase in subsequent years. The exchange of know-how will enable us to create a real legal-judicial centre that will enrich the Italian editorial landscape with new products destined to become reference points for the professionals of the sector. Finally, this partnership unquestionably strengthens LSWR Group in the legal-judicial market, with another key milestone in the growth and innovation pathway outlined in our industrial plan".

Roberto Pardolesi, Chairman of the Board of Il Foro Italiano commented: "We are extremely pleased to have created such a solid partnership between two centres of excellence in the legal-judicial publishing sector as La Tribuna and Il Foro Italiano. We are convinced that the union between the high value of our editorial content and the vision of La Tribuna can give a decisive boost to the growth and renewal of the products currently in our portfolio as well as create the prerequisites for new solutions and services designed to support industry professionals in their daily business. Being part of the LSWR Group will also enable us to benefit from clear operational synergies, which will allow us to generate even more value for our customers."
